City manager outlines summer pools, police promotions and utilities work

City staff recognized several North Las Vegas Police Department promotions and noted an assistant chief is retiring next week. The manager also announced the city’s schedule of free community pool parties across the city beginning Saturday, June 6 and running through Aug. 1, and expanded hours at Walker Pool. The utilities team reported exercising 511 valves in April, up from 418 in March, and completing pipe and hydrant repairs.
The city manager encouraged residents to sign up for a June 9 blood drive located outside City Hall and thanked parks and aquatics staff for programming. No council action was required; these were informational announcements.
