Sumner police announce arrest in alleged sexual assault of 15-year-old

McCurdy said the suspect faces charges that were partially redacted in the statement; the transcript lists the counts in abbreviated form, including a second-degree charge, a third-degree child-related charge, and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. "Investigation alleges that the suspect used Snapchat to contact a 15 year old girl before forcibly assaulting her at her home in Sumner, Washington," McCurdy said.
The chief said the arrest followed coordinated investigative work and that the case is now before the court; he added that no further details will be released at this time. The department provided a helpline number for victims as part of the statement and said victim-care resources were engaged.
