North Estates Section 6 preliminary plat approved; zoning change to follow

A preliminary plat to split a 1.67-acre tract at 309 Solomon Lane into two lots was approved; staff said the property will undergo a zone change to SF-1 and the item will go to the City Council for the zone change hearings on Aug. 11.
The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the preliminary plat for North Estates Section 6 at 309 Solomon Lane, authorizing a lot-line cleanup that will split a 1.67-acre tract into two lots. Planner Angelina Betanini said staff recommends approval while noting the property is going through a zone-change process to SF-1 so the smaller lots can be created.
Betanini told commissioners the item will proceed to the City Council for the zone change (it is scheduled to be seen at the council meeting on Aug. 11 after appearing before the commission on Aug. 3). A motion to approve the preliminary plat passed unanimously.
The approved preliminary plat advances the lot-split process while the companion zoning change moves separately through council review.
