The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to approve a Specific Use Designation to allow an 800-square-foot accessory dwelling unit at a property in Wilshire Park. Angelina Betanini, the planner presenting the item, described the proposal as an in-place upgrade to an existing structure intended for family members who require care.
"No objections were received, and staff does recommend approval of this request subject to the following conditions," Betanini said, noting the unit must be occupied by family and may not be rented or leased. The vice chair opened the public comment period, but no members of the public spoke. Commissioner O'Field moved to approve and Commissioner Martin seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The commission's approval permits the conversion under SF-2 zoning with the conditions listed by staff.
