Planners propose routing Hagerty line through Plymouth downtown and past three high schools

Adrianna Jordan said the consortium suggested moving the Hagerty route so it would go through Plymouth’s downtown and pass the Plymouth‑Canton Educational Park, which serves three high schools and about 6,000 students. "There was a desire... that it would go through the downtown of Plymouth," Jordan said, and panelists argued routing past the education complex would improve student and employee access.

Jordan explained that moving Hagerty into downtown required balancing service for industrial areas and high‑job intersections; to preserve service to industrial sites the consortium proposed reassigning those segments to an adjusted Plymouth Road route so employment centers and a new medical complex at Ann Arbor and Haggerty would remain served. The changes are offered as suggested adjustments to SMART’s published route map and would need coordination if adopted.
