Probation Services Week: county probation highlights caseloads, rehabilitation focus

He highlighted partnerships with the courts, district attorney's office, the sheriff's department, Placerville Police Department and health and human services, and said probation's work focuses on accountability paired with opportunity to reduce recidivism: "When probation works, people change. When people change, community becomes safe."
Supervisors thanked probation staff for their work and asked questions about training, culture and case management. Boyd said the department emphasizes targeted, deliberate training and tailored interventions on a case-by-case basis. The item was informational; no action was required.
