Committee remarks included specific events: a Memorial Day ceremony on May 25 at 10 a.m. at Frontier Park Pavilion, a downtown block party May 30 (10 a.m.–5 p.m.) with the Josh Abbott Band performing in the evening, "Paint Prosper Proud" on May 28, Stars, Stripes and Prosper night on June 12, and a morning parade plus an evening Pride in the Sky at Frontier Park on July 2. The CEC also highlighted a Hometown Heroes initiative to recognize veterans at council meetings and in a lobby display.
