Middle-school principal Meg O'Mara presented the district's Student Safety Data System (SSDS) report for the Jan—June 2025 reporting window and reviewed incidents reported to the state.
O'Mara told the board the elementary reported three HIB (harassment, intimidation and bullying) incidents in that window, two of which were unsubstantiated and one substantiated; there were no incidents of restraint reported for the elementary and five out-of-school suspensions. The middle school reported one HIB incident that was not substantiated, five incidents of restraint and 12 out-of-school suspensions. O'Mara noted that SSDS reporting fulfills state and federal requirements and that the district uses the system to compare trends year to year.
Board members thanked O'Mara for the report and highlighted the district's low levels of suspensions and the support programs in place. The principal said the next reporting window will cover September through December 2025 and encouraged the board to review the SSDS materials that were provided.
