When the board considered addendum item P8 (accepting Ryder's resignation), board members spoke at length in appreciation of his leadership. Multiple members praised his visibility with students, steady leadership through COVID, and contributions over roughly a decade. The board adopted the resignation item on roll call, with several members expressing regret.
Board members said more formal thanks and a send-off will be planned in coming weeks as the district organizes for the superintendent's departure and upcoming contract negotiations. The board also noted the transition will coincide with upcoming budget work and personnel negotiations.
