County seeks bids for landfill pipe and geomembrane tarps to support cell operations

Cowlitz County announced two solid-waste procurements: about 10,000 linear feet of HDPE pipe for landfill air/well systems and SCRIM reinforced polyethylene geomembrane tarping material to replace degraded tarps.
County engineer Susan Eugenis said staff will put out bids to purchase roughly 10,000 linear feet of high-density polyethylene pipe in four types (4" and 6" solid-wall and 4" and 6" perforated) for landfill air/well assemblies; the purchase is for delivery to the landfill site, not installation.
She also described a separate call for bids for SCRIM reinforced polyethylene geomembrane used as tarping material; staff noted that while tarps are reused when possible, ultraviolet exposure and animal activity require periodic replacement. Both items were described as consent-agenda procurements to ensure materials are on-site when needed for landfill operations.
