District touts College & Career Week, student successes including perfect M‑STEP math score

Superintendent Roper opened the meeting’s celebration segment with a summary of College and Career Week events: a "College 101" presentation from Saginaw Valley State University, a Post‑Secondary Fair that hosted more than 80 colleges, military and trade organizations, Career Day at Holly Elementary with 17 community professionals, and school‑wide spirit activities. The district also reported that Holly High School students toured Selfridge Air Force Base during the week.
Athletic and student recognitions included Coach Billy Keenist, Jr., being named Flint Metro League Stripes Division Coach of the Year and the Varsity Boys Cross Country Team winning back‑to‑back league championships. The minutes also note that Rose Pioneer Elementary student Benjamin Jettie achieved a perfect M‑STEP math score. The board shared congratulations and moved on to the evening’s business.
