The North Las Vegas City Council used its June 17 meeting to conduct the annual public review of City Manager Mikayla Moore, during which council members offered extended praise and the council formally recommended keeping Moore in the post.
In her presentation, Moore summarized strategic achievements across city operations: staff growth from 1,859 to 2,072 employees since July 2024, capital project progress on Las Vegas Boulevard and regional infrastructure, technology upgrades including an ERP and dispatch/records improvements, public safety statistics (homicides down 6 percent, traffic fatalities down 40 percent), and recent economic development wins that the city said generated hundreds of jobs and millions in capital investment. She also noted community and health initiatives, a HUD Healthy Homes grant, affordable housing investments, and continued parks and recreation planning.
Following the presentation, council members gave floor-after-floor accolades, describing Moore's leadership as collaborative and results-driven. One councilmember said, "You've put together a fantastic team around you." The council voted to accept the presentation and affirmed the city manager's role.
