Council authorizes amendment to concrete-repair contract with AHI Improvements

Staff asked the council to approve resolution R4077 to increase the contract with AHI Improvements LLC to account for approved FY2026 street improvements. Staff said the original contract (24-033) had been approved on 02/20/2024 and that a prior extension authorized $350,000 of work through 09/30/2026.
Staff said additional street improvements approved in October 2025 total $369,260 and recommended increasing the contract amount to cover the extra work. "Given the contractor has performed satisfactorily in accordance with the contract and city's expectations, staff recommends approval of resolution number R4077 as presented," staff said. Council voted to approve the contract amendment; the mayor recorded the motion as passed unanimously.
A council member asked how often the contract is renegotiated; staff replied the city is on the first extension and can approve up to three additional 1‑year options under the contract terms and that the procurement office should be contacted for bidding opportunities if the city chooses not to extend in the future.
