Commissioners approve addendum moving unused annex contract funds to sheriff’s office
Summary
The court approved Addendum No. 5 to move unused contract funds from a completed annex contract (CMJ) to the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office; commissioners said the funds are obligated and will be reallocated to enable ongoing sheriff spending.
Commissioner Stacy told the court that internal auditing identified unused funds remaining in a completed contract with CMJ for concrete inspections; because the annex project is now complete the proposal was to transfer that obligated money to the sheriff's office for appropriate spending.
Stacy said the closeout process identified the funds and staff proposed moving them to the sheriff's budget. He said the county still has "$4.55 in the annex" they are working to close out and expects ARPA funds to be spent soon. Commissioner Gallano made the motion to approve Addendum No. 5 to the memorandum of understanding between Rockwall County and the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office; the court approved the addendum 5–0.
The court instructed staff to coordinate the accounting and confirm any remaining closeout items before reallocation.
