Project lead says MOU from RTC/MPO should fund State Highway 205 tie‑ins before next meeting

"He thinks he's got a path forward that we should be getting a MOU on before your next meeting," King said, explaining the MOU would include work to connect the north and south tie‑ins and fund reconstruction of the southern roadway.
King said the environmental clearance for much of the corridor is complete but that TxDOT is reluctant to take the northern portion into the state system while the railroad crossing remains at grade. He described federal dollars being made available to improve the southern pavement so traffic can shift onto John King while the county negotiates a railroad agreement required to flip grade and finalize the turnback process.
