County engineer reports nearly 1,000 public contributions to thoroughfare plan update

Erica Bridges, Rockwall County Engineer, updated the consortium on public engagement for the master thoroughfare plan, reporting robust participation from early-May outreach and town halls.
"We did get 969 contributions that included 698 surveys and 271 map comments," Bridges said, and added that the project website had about 1,700 visitors. Bridges told the group consultants Friesen Nichols will analyze that input and present a follow-up to the consortium in June.
Bridges noted that the public engagement period is closed and that staff will use the collected surveys and comments to refine project priorities and mapping prior to upcoming schematic and environmental work.
