Board approves nondiscrimination policy revisions, rescinds prior harassment adoption for correction

The Vernonia SD 47J board moved to adopt policy AC and ACAR as presented and also voted to rescind the Feb. 9 adoption of policy GBN/JBA (harassment) so the documents can be corrected and reissued. Greg moved to approve policy AC and ACAR and the motion carried without opposition.
During the second reading, board member Stacy flagged two issues in the nondiscrimination document: a missing 't' in the first paragraph and an insertion placeholder that should designate the superintendent as the civil rights coordinator. The board acknowledged the corrections and proceeded to approve the corrected policies and to resend the harassment policy for finalization.
