The Vernonia SD 47J board voted to approve the 2025 budget committee calendar at its Feb. 13 meeting. A board member moved to approve the calendar for 2025, the motion was seconded, and Chair Susan declared the motion passed after no opposition.
Board members also discussed proactive recruitment of budget committee members. Options included contacting recent applicants and volunteers directly, distributing flyers downtown, posting on the reader board and placing notice in the Vernonia Voice. The superintendent and staff said they are tracking state and federal funding shifts to assess potential impacts on FTE and programming.
