The Vernonia SD 47J Board of Education approved a limit of three interdistrict student transfers per grade for the 2025–26 school year. Greg moved to set the limit "to 3 students per grade for the 25, 26 year as discussed," and the motion carried after a second and no opposition from the board.
Board members said the per-grade approach is more practical than a single district-wide number and allows the district to adjust if larger-than-expected numbers of transfer requests are received. The superintendent noted the rule provides flexibility "if we get 4 or 5 students per grade level transferred in the district, we'll adjust because we want as many kids as we possibly can get."
