Kelly said the city has secured a $1,000,000 grant from Congressman Flood and Senator Short tied to the project and scheduled a Teams meeting with EPA and the project engineer on Aug. 4 to review timelines and federal assurances.
Kelly also updated councilors on local development and county actions: Casey's is revising building permit plans and the construction contract bid award is expected by Aug. 7 with potential construction late this fall or early next spring; Lancaster County notified the city that South 68th Street right-of-way and permanent easements will affect city-owned parcels adjacent to the water treatment plant (roughly 7,200 sq ft ROW and 4,500 sq ft permanent easement reported). Kelly said staff will work through right-of-way and utility relocation details as the county project progresses.
