The council approved a settlement among the Town, Nicholas Landing (property at 1605 Progress Way), and the Clark County Assessor’s Office resolving questions about a 2024 property tax exemption under an existing pilot agreement.
Staff described that the settlement restores the originally agreed 100% exemption for the Nicholas Landing property and that, in exchange, Nicholas Landing will make the required $50,000 pilot payment to the town within 30 days of executing the agreement. The settlement also states the property will remain eligible for future exemptions so long as statutory filing requirements and pilot conditions continue to be satisfied.
Councilwoman Henderson made the motion; it was seconded and carried by voice vote. The council recorded the action as approval of the settlement agreement and no litigation will be pursued on the matter if the terms are met.
