The Mount Juliet Board of Commissioners voted to amend the land-use plan and rezoning for the Lockbox Self Storage property at 12337 Lebanon Road (Map 53, Parcel 46), approving both the land-use change and the preliminary master development plan for roughly 4.1 acres.
The mayor moved an amendment to item 8b that replaced the original phrasing requiring "a 6 foot sidewalk along [road] frontage" with the specific wording: "A sidewalk at least 6 feet wide shall be constructed along Lebanon Road along the project frontage. Should the TDOT sidewalk project have broken ground prior to this development going vertical, this condition shall be omitted." The motion was seconded and adopted, and the two items passed on a voice vote. "A sidewalk at least 6 feet wide shall be constructed along Lebanon Road along the project frontage," the mayor read when offering the amendment.
The change narrows the sidewalk standard (specifying minimum width) and adds an explicit condition that defers the requirement if the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) begins a sidewalk project first, giving the developer and staff a clear trigger for omission. Commissioners expressed no further objections before approving the measures.
The approvals modify the city’s land-use plan and rezone the parcel from commercial/general designations toward an industrial planned-unit classification for the project area. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript beyond voice assent; the mayor announced the items "do pass." The agenda and accompanying staff materials identify the property as the Lockbox Self Storage site on Lebanon Road (Map 53, Parcel 46).
