The police chief (Speaker 10) said the preferred wellness product, Cortico, offers live counseling and family access and is used by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. The chief asked the council to allow a one‑year contract and said usage metrics would be reported so the council could assess value at renewal. "...it has live counseling...and it's used by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy," the chief said.
Council also approved funding for ballistic shields and minor training line items from opioid‑restricted and unrestricted funds as presented. The chair opened and closed the required public hearing and the ordinance to appropriate funds was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote. Members asked staff to provide a checklist and documentation for AED maintenance and to report back on wellness program uptake after the pilot year.
