District plans interactive 'electronic hall of fame' to digitize yearbooks and local history

Superintendent Mark Branko described a planned "electronic hall of fame," an interactive set of large digital screens to be placed at the entrances to the high school/middle school, elementary school and theater area that will present digitized yearbooks and historical archive material. Branko said the project aims to create a modern, interactive historical archive for the community and that the district is working with staff to gather yearbooks (some dating back to 1918).
Committee members asked whether the archive could be linked from the district website or shared with town historical organizations. A district staff member said the platform is under a five-year agreement with the vendor Rocket Alumni and that the system could be taken down and restarted if the district chooses a different vendor in the future. Branko suggested eventual partnerships with the Sandy Bay Historical Society and town information booths to extend access and referrals beyond on-site kiosks.
