County to hold public citizen‑committee interviews for administrator finalists June 11–12

County staff told commissioners the citizens committee interviews will be public and that finalists already know the interview dates.
Mitch, who is coordinating logistics, said the finalists had been informed of the June 11–12 interview dates and would be asked to confirm their willingness to be publicly identified. "All of them had been notified of the 11th and 12th as being the interview days. So they've all been prepared and are ready for those two days to come here to Ottawa County to interview," he said. He added that staff will work with the deputy administrator and communications staff on the interview scenarios and public logistics.
Chair Tippels said the citizen committee would not render decisions or recommendations and that its input would be limited to individual assessments shared with the board. "They will not take a vote...They will render nothing except to give their opinions on strengths and weaknesses," he said. The county plans to issue a press release and notify media after finalists accept interview invitations.
