Roof project, parking changes and safety vestibule among summer campus upgrades

Superintendent Mark Branko updated the committee on facilities work completed and underway across the campus. "The roof project is moving," Branko said, and he thanked the DPW and Nacella Paving Company for paving a previously dirt parking area. The district also changed traffic and parking patterns to reduce collisions, added short-term visitor parking and is relocating the middle/high-school art kiln into a dedicated classroom to expand ceramics offerings.

Branko said the wellness-center portable attached to the greenhouse was at end of life and removed; the greenhouse will be rebuilt or repurposed with science-department input. He also reported work to add exterior campus lighting and an elementary safety vestibule (a double-door buzz-in system) expected to be installed by the end of September or early October. The committee praised custodial and DPW staff for extensive summer work but took no formal vote on facilities at the meeting.
