A resident at the June 2 reconvened meeting asked whether Columbia needs a full-time superintendent and whether the current salary is appropriate for the district’s size. Michael M. Maziarz, chairman of the Board of Education, responded that the board had evaluated the superintendent's workload and compared Columbia to similar districts and that they "see no reason to change the role."
Maziarz said the board remains open to improvements and to studying the district structure if warranted, and a resident suggested forming a task force to review potential changes. The reconvened meeting did not direct the BOE to take formal action; any staffing or structural adjustments would be a separate process for the board to consider.
