County approves DMV records agreement, appraisal contract and RoadPod traffic counter purchase

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative contracts and a traffic-count equipment purchase at the July 28 meeting. The board approved a five-year agreement with the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles and the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office for use of DMV records under the Nebraska Uniform Motor Vehicle Record Disclosure Act; there is no cost to the county.
The board also approved a $6,800 contract with Great Plains Appraisal Inc for appraisal services for Lots 1–12, Block 90, Original Lincoln, and awarded a purchase order to MetroCount for a RoadPod VT tube traffic counter for $11,636 on a recommendation from County Engineer Pam Dingman. Dingman stated the county currently has only three functioning traffic counters (used for roads with fewer than 100 vehicles per day) and needs to upgrade them to continue required traffic counts. The items passed by recorded majority votes (4-0).
