Sabrina told commissioners the BOCC millage rate will remain 3.885 and the law-enforcement MSTU will remain 2.07, unchanged from the prior year. She reported the BOCC's taxable value increased about 6.4%, producing an estimated $5,900,000 in additional property-tax revenue, and the law-enforcement MSTU taxable value rose approximately 6.3%, generating about $2,200,000.
A commissioner asked Sabrina to confirm the MSTU and millage numbers during the presentation; Sabrina reiterated the percentages and the unchanged millage rates. Board members discussed the MSTU as a mechanism that gives taxpayers visibility into law-enforcement spending and noted that if the sheriff needs more funding, he must present a request to the board.
