County to pursue septic-to-wastewater conversions in Blackwater River Basin under state grant

County staff asked the board to approve a task order with On-site Performance Incorporated under a master services agreement to deploy distributed wastewater treatment units funded through Northwest Florida Water Management grant agreement No. 26-074.
Jared, operations and safety staff, said the voluntary program will focus on areas in the Blackwater River Basin where sewer connections are not expected for about 10 years and where older septic systems are failing. "This is a voluntary grant funded project to deploy new infrastructure for citizens if they choose to participate," Jared said.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about scope and emphasized that participation would be voluntary; the board moved the item to the Thursday consent agenda for formal action.
