Commissioner Stacy and others pushed on the math, with discussion of year-to-date subscription totals and how some maintenance agreements were reclassified for FY27. Staff and commissioners outlined a net increase in the sheriff’s software line—about $23,000 by one calculation—while noting some subscriptions would be retired into the suite. The sheriff emphasized administrative efficiency and the ability to track equipment, training needs and policy changes centrally.
Separately, the sheriff reviewed other technology asks: ThisGen 9-1-1 training software (about $5,000), Guardian (background-investigator vetting) with a small increase, PowerTime DMS shift/ scheduling software (slight increase), and Sabrite investigative tools for phone extractions (a larger increase from roughly $8,800 to about $21,650). Commissioners repeatedly asked for clearer accounting of which line items are renewals and which are net new purchases.
