Staff reports: ASR well delay and dispatch backup amid fires, other updates

City staff provided routine reports across departments. Public works director Casey Keiser said ASR (aquifer storage and recovery) well No. 2 has been delayed and Taylor Northwest does not anticipate full operational capacity until early October, but the city has excess system capacity and no immediate water shortage is expected. Staff also reported dispatch staffing changes and that Frontier Dispatch in Conant had requested backup when wildfire risk threatened their center.
Other updates included positive railroad business prospects (approximately 40 cars per week for several months), a slowdown in golf activity at Meadow Lakes because of smoke and increased airport activity. Staff reminded council about the League of Oregon Cities conference and noted staff presentations planned on data centers.
