Council approves intent to award $164,445 seal-coat contract for 2026 streets

Casey Keiser, Prineville public works director and assistant city manager, asked the council to approve an intent to award the 2026 pavement seal-coat rehabilitation project to the apparent low bidder, Central Oregon Asphalt, with a bid of $164,445. Keiser said the project would treat roughly 383,000 square feet of local streets and came in slightly under the engineer's estimate of $171,000.
"This project was planned and budgeted for within the current budget," Keiser told the council, noting city crews have had good results with past seal-coat work. If authorized, Keiser said construction would begin no later than Aug. 3 and be completed by Aug. 28. The council voted unanimously to approve the intent to award.
