Commissioners adopt a bundle of grant compliance resolutions to secure CDBG/MITMOD funding
Summary
County staff presented a set of policy documents required by the community development block grant (MITMOD/CDBG). Commissioners unanimously adopted Section 504 nondiscrimination, fair-housing, Section 3, code of conduct and civil-rights resolutions to keep the grant on track.
County grants staff told the court that, as part of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG/MITMOD) award, several required policies and resolutions needed adoption or correction in the county file. Christina (county staff) said some documents were omitted or needed updating from the original application and that bringing them to the court now would prevent grant kickbacks or denial.
The court moved to adopt a Section 504 policy against discrimination based on handicap and grievance procedures, a Fair Housing policy, a Section 3 policy, a county code of conduct specific to the grant, and a civil-rights resolution reaffirming the county’s obligations for participation in the grant. Each item was seconded and adopted unanimously (5–0). Staff said all documents require signatures and will be filed with the grant packet so the county may proceed with the project work under the award.
