Council approves smaller front/street-side setbacks to accommodate drive-through site plans

Staff said the change was prompted by a recent Panda Express site plan that included a dual drive-through and noted that Logan City and other jurisdictions use a 20-foot setback.
City planner Ryan Nunn told council members the applicant proposed removing the setback entirely at first but that staff recommended a reduction to 20 feet to preserve sight lines and safety. Council members asked about potential safety and lighting concerns; Ryan Nunn said staff compared peer cities and concluded the reduced setback would maintain safety while allowing practical site designs. The motion to approve passed 5–0 on a roll call vote.
