Stafford prep to redact most local mobile-vendor rules after state law changes

The city attorney briefed council on recent state law changes (House Bill 2844 and a Senate companion) that move many mobile food-vendor regulations and inspection authority to state agencies. The city plans to redact much of the local mobile food-truck ordinance and retain location and zoning controls where allowed; staff expect to bring a revised ordinance to the council in time for the July 1 statewide effective date.
Officials discussed practical implications such as removal of the city's current medallion program and the continuing ability to regulate locations and fire-code compliance.
