Szegda Farm chair wins CCAG approval to prioritize $4,054 in capital purchases

Jennie Glinzak, Szegda Farm chair, asked the Columbia Conservation and Agriculture Group (CCAG) on June 4 to prioritize $4,054 in capital purchases for the farm, including 6–8 hose reels, two 8-foot picnic tables, two 6-foot bolted tables for the pole barn, a 6-foot folding event table and a pack of 10 solar mole repellers. CCAG moved and seconded a motion to fund the items in ranked order from available supplies or contracted-services lines; the motion passed unanimously.
Glinzak told the committee Szegda had a $2,700 surplus as of May 1, not including about $2,000 associated with haying, and said the farm receives an annual budget of $600 from the town. Committee members noted some lines (postage had $815 remaining; outstanding salary items were estimated near $3,173) and agreed to allocate roughly $4,000–$5,000 in the coming weeks to cover planned items. The purchase list was described as capital improvements rather than routine operating expenses, and CCAG agreed to prioritize the items this season when feasible.
