Matt True, Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director, told the commissioners the county has five FEMA temporary housing trailers provided by Trimble County EMA and stored behind the county building for use as needed. True said the county is awaiting a state determination about whether combined incidents meet the threshold for a federal disaster declaration — a determination that may take several months — and noted ongoing appeals of unresolved FEMA claims from 2005. He said roughly $1.7 million in identified damage from that earlier event has been reduced by FEMA to a proposed settlement of about $16,000; True indicated the county continues to pursue appeals on the matter.
