The Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Budget Calendar after discussing the spacing between the Board of Finance public hearing and the Council’s budget workshop. The calendar lays out departmental submission deadlines (September–January), the Town Manager’s proposed budget submission in late January, Board of Finance public hearing timing in April and the Annual Budget Meeting in early May, with referenda scheduled for May–July if necessary.
Chairman Polhamus and Mrs. Bratton noted the compressed sequence of workshops and hearings in some years; the Assistant Town Manager said the newsletter and printing deadlines constrain scheduling and staff will proceed with the adopted dates. The calendar was adopted by unanimous motion.
