Chair then moved that the Board approve removal; members responded “Aye.”
Board members discussed preserving the canopy if practicable and storing it at the town garage, and whether to rebuild the replacement canopy adjacent to an existing, undamaged canopy to reduce retaining‑wall and site work. The Clerk/Administrator said the legs and posts are rotted and that any repair would be a bigger project, and that Casella will remove the damaged posts and dispose of material at its cost.
The Board approved the action to have Casella take down the damaged canopy and proceed with the disposal arrangement; the Clerk/Administrator will follow up with Casella and confirm whether the town can salvage the canopy elements for later use.
