A meeting participant described seeing children run between the Boys & Girls Club and a park and said there were several close calls along Oak Street. “There were kids running between the Boys and Girls Club to the park back and forth, and there is no kids at play signage,” the participant said, urging the committee to pursue signage and to coordinate with the Boys & Girls Club.
Committee members acknowledged traffic patterns had changed because of road closures and construction and suggested public-works staff and the Boys & Girls Club meet to identify appropriate signage and possible traffic-calming measures. The Chair asked staff to follow up and report what options and costs would be involved in adding signage or other interventions on Oak Street.
