At the Sept. 2 meeting the Lewistown City Commission approved a suite of assessment resolutions. City Manager Holly Phelps said Boulevard District No.12 assessments will remain unchanged and reported the total assessment amount of $3,759.29; the Commission approved Resolution No. 4202 by unanimous roll call. Phelps also reported that lighting district rates will remain the same and that Northwestern Energy bills the city; Resolution No. 4203 to levy lighting-district costs passed unanimously with Phelps noting a reserve in fund 2400.
On street maintenance the Commission approved Resolution No. 4204 which raises the assessment rate to 4 cents per square foot (up from 3.5 cents last fiscal year). Phelps said residential lots are capped at 15,000 square feet while commercial lots are charged by square footage with some provisions for lots without public right-of-way. Commissioner Hrubes emphasized ensuring adequate funding to avoid large future increases.
