MHP presents revised mission draft; Trust asked to refine goals and alignment with Housing Production Plan

Shelly Goehring of the Mass Housing Partnership presented a reworked draft of the Affordable Housing Trust’s mission and asked members to comment and bring suggested goals and strategies to the next meeting. The draft would "broaden the mission by including housing opportunities for those in varied income levels," and participants discussed adding the word "alternative" to cover a wider range of programs from emergency rental assistance to homeownership pathways.
Committee members also recommended mentioning sustainability and considering whether to include language on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; several members said those topics might better appear in the Trust’s goals and strategy documents than the core mission statement. The chair asked members to review the draft alongside the Housing Production Plan and return suggestions at the next meeting on June 3.
