The Town Council voted to award a contract to Wengell, McDonnell & Costello, Inc. (WMC) of Newington, CT for design services for the reconstruction of Country Club Road with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $140,000. Town Engineer Larry Baril recommended the firm, which is also working on the Old Farms Road East/West section, and noted the largest abutter is the Golf Club of Avon.
Council members said this project will require robust public involvement. The motion passed unanimously with Mmes. Ausiello, Barthel, Bratton and Messrs. Polhamus and Weber voting in favor.
