The Department of Public Examiners presented the board’s fiscal-year audit and issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements for the year ended Sept. 30, 2025, saying the reports are available online and were published April 17, 2026.
“We issued an unmodified opinion on the board's financial statements for the year ended 09/30/2025,” Misty Beam of the Department of Public Examiners told the board, adding that auditors also issued an unmodified opinion on major federal programs and that “there were no findings presented in our audit report.” Beam noted the special-education cluster was audited under uniform guidance for federal awards and invited any questions to the agency’s Montgomery office.
The auditor said the audit was conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and government auditing standards to assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Board members offered thanks to staff for accommodating auditors during the process. No corrective actions or findings were reported at the meeting, and the auditor directed technical questions to the agency’s main office for follow-up.
