Stronach Township board adopts ballot language for two fire millages; no public comment

The Stronach Township Board convened a special meeting July 22 at 7:00 p.m., approved the agenda and unanimously adopted two resolutions to place millage proposals on the November 2026 ballot. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Vadeboncoeur; Clerk Lori Gerber recorded attendance and votes.
Resolution 7‑22‑2026‑1 renews an expired one‑and‑one‑half (1.5) mill override for five years (2027–2031) to support fire department protection, maintenance, equipment and education, with an estimated first‑year revenue of $94,534. Resolution 7‑22‑2026‑2 would place an additional 1.6805 mills on the ballot for 2027–2031 to fund fire protection, emergency medical services, rescue operations, equipment, station improvements, staffing and training; that resolution included an estimated first‑year revenue of $105,909. Both motions were made by Mr. Lindeman and seconded by Ms. Zoscsak; roll calls recorded four yes votes and one absence for each item. There were no public comments recorded. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The clerk’s draft of the minutes was signed "Respectfully submitted by Lori Gerber, Clerk," and the supervisor declared both resolutions adopted for ballot placement.
