Council recognizes Teen Council and previews new Clock Tower Landing farmers’ market

Council President Cheatham told the council April 20 that the Overland Park Teen Council recently met with the city council and encouraged interested Overland Park High School students to apply for next year’s program.
Cheatham also reported that the 2026 farmers' market season opened recently and said the market will move to Clock Tower Landing, with the first market there scheduled for June 6. "This year will bring many changes at the market... The first market at the new Clock Tower Landing will be Saturday, June 6," Cheatham said, and she added that the market will operate year‑round because Clock Tower Landing has indoor heated space for vendors and shoppers.
The presiding officer encouraged residents to use the nearby parking structure instead of searching for street parking when attending the market.
