State 2-1-1 restructuring frees $91,000; funds reallocated to local services

Staff told the board that Washington’s centralization of 2-1-1 routing freed roughly $91,000 in community action funds for FY27; about $38,000 was reallocated to New Life Recovery Services (transportation/support) and about $53,000 to Shared Meals & Nutrition programs, and the quarterly report will reflect the changes.
County staff explained that changes to the statewide 2-1-1 call-routing structure (move to a WA 2-1-1 central call center) ended the county’s direct contract for outreach services at the end of FY26, freeing approximately $91,000 in community action funding for reallocation in FY27.
"This ended up freeing up a little over $91,000 in community action funding for fiscal year 20 27," Rebecca Rice said. As a result of contractor requests and staff review, approximately $38,000 was added to the New Life Recovery Services support and transportation contract and about $53,000 was added to the shared meals and nutrition program contract. Staff said Abby will update the next quarterly outcomes report to show the funding differences.
Board members had no additional questions and staff noted the reallocations were made from funds that were previously committed to 2-1-1 outreach services prior to the statewide routing change.
