MUSC praises OCSD wellness work as district schools earn $21,500 in awards

Carrie Hollifield of MUSC Children's Health credited Orangeburg County School District's wellness leads for programs ranging from school gardens to walking clubs. "Healthy students are better learners," Hollifield said while announcing that all 24 schools earned wellness awards totaling $21,500 and that the district wellness committee earned an additional $500.
Hollifield called out individual champions by name and invited representatives from the winning schools to the stage to receive certificates. The district also named Bethune Bowman Middle High as the grand-prize wellness winner; organizers said those awardees would be publicly recognized and supported by district partners.
