Committee issues adverse report for proposed signage at 1960 West Market after resident concerns

The committee considered an ordinance authorizing a conditional use to install additional signage at 1960 West Market. Planning staff (Kyle) told the committee the department recommended denial, explaining the applicant had been asked to submit a complete sign package and that discussion about the sign should have occurred earlier in the process. Councilmembers asked how many east-facing signs the proposal included; staff said the submittal showed a wall sign, a front-of-building sign and a possible rear-facing sign.
Bolden moved for an adverse report on the item; the motion received a second and passed by voice vote in committee. The chair said the adverse report would be presented to the full council that evening.
